Two years ago, Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, a revered Buddhist lama and teacher from eastern Tibet, was arrested and imprisoned by Chinese authorities.  He was then sentenced to death for crimes he did not commit.  Time is running out for Tenzin Delek - he could be executed by the Chinese government in December of this year.

AFTER 32 DAYS, TIBETAN YOUTH CONGRESS CALLS OFF HUNGER STRIKE

Three members of the Tibetan Youth Congress, Mr. Sonam Wangdu, Ms. Dolma Choephel and Mr. Gyatso maintained a hunger strike from April 2nd to May 3rd, outside the United Nations headquarters in New York City, demanding that the U.N. take action for Tibet.  After a meeting on Monday, May 3rd with senior U.N. officials, the strike was called off.   Click here to read more.

Last of the Drapchi 14 Nuns Freed February 26th

After years of immense pressure, Phuntsog Nyidron, the last of the Drapchi 14 nuns still in prison, has been freed. Her release comes one year before the end of her 16-year prison term.
